International Services - [ freshman requirements ]
Complete the following steps to be considered for admission:
- Complete the application for admission.
- Submit a non-refundable $35 application fee. Applications will not be processed until the application fee has been received.
- Send or have sent official or attested copies of academic documents from all former secondary and post-secondary schools in an attested sealed envelope directly from the secondary school, examination board or university. If transcripts, mark sheets or diplomas are in any language other than English, please have them translated and attested by the issuing institution.
- Request that official ACT or SAT scores be sent to Mississippi State University. ACT/SAT test scores must come directly from the testing centers.
International undergraduate students admitted to Mississippi State University must demonstrate English Language Proficiency to register for academic courses offered through the colleges.
To receive immigration documents
- Send Sponsor Declaration Form.
- Send sponsor's bank statement or employer letter.
Freshman Admission Requirements
- Diploma from secondary school or secondary leaving examination.
- Appropriate Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT):
- Minimum acceptable ACT composite score is 18
- Minimum acceptable SAT combined score is 860
- The written portion of the SAT is not considered for admission or scholarship awarding purposes.
- In lieu of an official ACT/SAT score, international students may submit an acceptable score on a national university entrance exam from their country of residence. Such scores will be reviewed for approval by the Office of Admissions and Scholarships.
