Hey, future Bulldogs! My name is Katy Sneed, and I'm from Starkville, MS. Although I was born in Sarasota, FL, Starkville has always been home to me. My entire family attended Mississippi State, so not only was I joining the Mississippi State family, but carrying on my own family tradition. My love of sports was nurtured at a young age, which led me to major in Sports Management at Mississippi State! The Professional Golf Management program at MSU is one of 19 schools to be accredited by the PGA of America. We're also the second oldest PGM program in the nation and have almost 100 percent placement of graduates at more than 1,200 golf courses worldwide! Come swing by our golf course when you visit campus!
What is your favorite tradition at MSU?
There is nothing like football game days in Davis Wade Stadium with 60,000 Bulldog family members. All you need is a cowbell in hand to top off the game day experience!
Between classes I would...
Spend time in the Union. You could find me at Starbucks or Chic-Fil-A!
The main reason I chose MSU:
It was a big university with a small-town family environment!
Favorite Starkville Restaurant:
The Veranda - the blue plate specials or the Veranda chicken are must tries!
Why did you choose to become an admissions counselor?
For so long I thought working in sports was my passion. While I still love sports, I learned that helping students join the Mississippi State family was where my heart longed to be!
What advice do you have for future students?
Be as involved as possible! The people you meet and the experiences you gain at college will help you achieve your career goals.
