Amelia Ramsey

Hi! My name is Amelia Ramsey, and I'm from Memphis, TN! Attending MSU is a tradition in my family, so I grew up loving Maroon & White and cheering on the Bulldogs at all of the sporting events! When I wasn't busy with Greek life, clubs, or intramural sports, I was usually in the Mitchell Memorial Library studying, grabbing coffee at Einstein's, or just working on different class projects. The best part about the library is that it's open really late, so you can always count on having a quiet place to study. Be sure to grab a bagel from Einstein's when you check out the library during your campus visit!

What is the one experience students shouldn't miss?

Old Main Music Festival! It's an on-campus event hosted by Music Makers every spring semester. During my senior year, one of my favorite bands, LANY, headlined the event, and it was one of my favorite memories in college!

How would you describe the atmosphere at MSU?

MSU is a tight-knit community where everyone feels included and important. As an out-of-state student, I really loved feeling like I was part of one big family!

Tips for college success:

Make sure you go to class and build relationships with your professors, because even if you aren't the best in a particular subject, your professors will be more willing to help you if they know who you are!

Favorite memory from a student organization or club:

My favorite memory was partnering with Habitat for Humanity through my sorority to build a brand new house for one of our shuttle drivers on campus. It was an amazing experience to see the house come to life, and then watch Ms. Annie's face light up when she got the keys to her new home!

Favorite place to hang out in Starkville:

The Noxubee Wildlife Refuge!

These are my favorite things...

Strong coffee, spontaneous road trips, any kind of concert, and chilly fall weather!
