The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences offers 15 majors and 43 concentrations. These offerings encompass a wide variety of programs, including Agribusiness, Biochemistry, Food Science, Floral Management, Fashion Design, and Landscape Architecture, just to name a few.
The College of Architecture, Art, and Design includes the School of Architecture, Department of Art, Interior Design, and Building Construction Science programs. The School of Architecture offers the only curriculum in the state of Mississippi leading to a professional degree in architecture, and the Building Construction Science degree program is one of just two studio-based construction programs in the nation!
The College of Arts & Sciences, the liberal arts branch of Mississippi State University is the largest college at MSU with over 5,200 students. The College offers curricula in mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts. The College of Arts & Sciences produces a diverse, talented group of leaders and innovators and prepares students for medical school, law school, and other professional programs!
The College of Business offers majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Marketing, and Management, as well as numerous concentrations, specialized programs, and minors, such as International Business, PGA Golf Management, Insurance, and Real Estate. MSU’s College of Business is the oldest college of business in the state and one of the oldest in the South.
The College of Education provides training for a wide variety of career choices. Students learn to teach at all levels with degrees in elementary education, special education, teaching/coaching, and in the various subject-area concentrations at the secondary education levels. Students can also train to be counselors and musicians, to work in industrial settings, or in Allied Health professions and so much more!
The Bagley College of Engineering is one of approximately 40 named engineering colleges in the nation and has been at the forefront of education and research for over 100 years. The College offers degree programs in 8 different engineering departments and 11 certificate programs. The Cybersecurity degree is a Ponemon Institute Top 3 nationally recognized program, and the MSU Space Cowboys rocket team recently won second place in a national NASA-sponsored competition!
The College of Forest Resources provides programs for students interested in careers in natural resources. It offers 14 concentrations and hundreds of career opportunities in forestry, forest products, wildlife, fisheries, aquaculture, and other natural resources. The MSU student chapter of the Society of American Foresters is one of the top 3 chapters in the nation!
The College of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 28 colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States and combines a unique balance of world-class research in animal and public health, high-quality learning experiences, and cutting edge medical care. Undergraduate students can prepare for the College of Veterinary Medicine through a variety of majors, including Animal & Dairy Science, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Poultry Science, and more, and through a variety of routes, including the Pre-Veterinary Medical Technology program and the Early Entry Program.
