MSU’s Scholarship Program offers assistance to outstanding students who demonstrate the potential for superior academic performance at the college level. Admission to the university is required for all scholarships. To be considered for competitive and private scholarships, the general scholarship application must be submitted.
Federal student financial aid applicants looking for grants, loans, and work study should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after October 1st of the fall prior to the year they plan to enroll at MSU. MSU's Federal School Code is 002423.

As of July 1, 2016, students seeking state financial aid must be registered for 15 credit hours per semester.
