Award Criteria

  • The Alumni Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship is available to non-resident children of MSU alumni. Qualifications for alumni status: receiving a degree from MSU or 48 hours toward a degree at MSU.
  • Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 
  • MSU offers an alumni non-resident tuition scholarship to help offset the non-resident portion of tuition. Students can receive up to $4,000 a year for 4 years. However, amounts will vary based on ACT/SAT scores and GPA. Students can stack the Academic Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship with the Alumni Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship. However, these scholarships cannot exceed the non-resident portion of tuition.
  • Alumni Non-Resident Tuition Scholarships can be stacked with the Non-Resident Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Colvard Future Leader Scholarship. 
  • Alumni Non-Resident Tuition Scholarships cannot be stacked with the 100% Veteran, Service-Member, Dependent, Spouse Non-Resident Tuition Waiver or with the Academic Common Market. 
  • Students must be assessed non-resident fees in order to receive Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship or Alumni Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship.
