Award Information
The local winners of the Distinguished Young Women program will receive a $1,000 one-year award. This one-year award amount will be disbursed equally over two semesters during a student's first year at MSU.
Award Criteria
- Must be an entering freshman
- Must have a 9th-11th grade GPA of 3.0+
- Must submit the General Scholarship Application
- Must submit the Distinguished Young Women's Scholarship Application in the scholarship portal
- Student must submit the name and email address of the local chairperson of their county's Mississippi Distinguished Young Women program to verify placement as part of the Distinguished Young Women's Scholarship Application

- Awarded only to the local winners. First and second alternates do not qualify.

Award Information
This award amount covers the cost of tuition for the overall state winner of the Mississippi Distinguished Young Women Program. The amount of this award will be capped at the regular 12-16 hour tuition rate. No adjustments will be made for overload tuition charges.
New students may receive this award for up to four years (8 semesters) provided student maintains a minimum overall college GPA of 3.0 and continuous full-time enrollment (12 credit hours per semester at MSU).
Current MSU students may only receive this award for the semesters of scholarship eligibility that they have remaining.
