Does Mississippi State University offer free tutoring?

Yes. Mississippi State University offers free tutoring in most major subjects through the Center for Academic Excellence during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Students can also get free math help at the Mathematics Tutoring Lab, where graduate teaching assistants tutor courses ranging from College Algebra to Calculus and Differential Equations, plus free tutoring through the Math Domain.

Where can MSU students get help with writing and presentations?

MSU students can visit the Writing Center for one-on-one coaching at every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to final revisions. For speeches and presentations, the Speaking Center pairs students with trained consultants who help strengthen a presentation's message, structure, and delivery. Both services are available to all Mississippi State students.

Is there a health clinic on Mississippi State's campus?

Yes. The John C. Longest Student Health Center is located just steps from the Drill Field, so students can see a physician and fill prescriptions without leaving campus. MSU also offers Student Counseling Services for mental health support.

Yes. Every full-time Mississippi State student receives a free membership to the Joe Frank Sanderson Center, a 150,000-square-foot recreation facility. The Sanderson Center offers fitness equipment, courts, group classes, and space for intramural and club activities, making it easy for students to stay active without an off-campus gym membership.

What support does Mississippi State offer students with disabilities?

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) coordinates accommodations for students who self-identify and provide documentation of a disability. MSU is also home to MSU ACCESS, a program designed for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and the National Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision (NRTC), the nation's only federally funded center focused on employment outcomes for people who are blind or have low vision.

Yes. The MSU Career Center supports students and alumni at every stage of the career journey — from exploring potential careers to securing job offers — through resources, services, and programs. Students interested in launching a business can also work with the Entrepreneurship Center (E-Center) to start and grow a company while still enrolled.

Is Mississippi State's campus safe?

The MSU Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Officers patrol campus around the clock and provide safety services and programs for the university community.

Where do on-campus students receive mail at Mississippi State?

All Mississippi State students living in residence halls wishing to receive USPS mail are required to have a campus P.O. Box. Students can set up their P.O. Box when they move on campus.
