Application Information
The Summer (May, June, July) and Fall (August) 2026 Admissions Application opens on August 1, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. CT.
Often times, we refer to this as Hail State @ 8.
The application can be found at apply.msstate.edu.
Students can apply via the Common App beginning August 5.
Prior to August 1, students will receive an email on Monday, July 21, with a link to create an account in the application portal. Creating an account before receiving this email may result in the wrong entry term and issues submitting the application. Please wait until July 21 to get started.
The application is simple to submit- all you need is yourself and a computer. It will will ask questions like your address, anticipated major, and your parent or guardian's contact information.
All high school and/or college transcripts and optional SAT/ACT scores, can be submitted after your application. Please note that these, along with your application fee or NACAC fee waiver, must be submitted before your application is reviewed for admission. Once all required materials are received, it will take 10-15 days for your application to be processed and for you to be notified of the decision. You will receive an email at the address used on your application and a letter in the mail.
Housing priority is determined by when your admissions application is submitted. The earlier your application is submitted, the earlier your housing selection timeslot will be.
