The MSU Department of History is a nationally ranked, research-extensive, Ph.D.-granting department. Its efforts concentrate in and on the history of the United States and Europe since 1650. Many history graduates pursue careers in teaching, public history, historic preservation or have gone on to law school, seminary, medical school, and even entered the U.S. Marshal Service.
